About WaderPeople

Where stories, rivers and people meet.

How it started.

WaderPeople was born from my love for fly fishing. I’ve been lucky to learn from great anglers and to share the river with some of the best.

Over time, that passion led me to teach, share what I’ve learned, and help others enjoy each day on the water a little more.

In 2017 I launched the podcast Fly Fishing Radio by WaderPeople, which later evolved into the YouTube channel.

My passion for casting comes from the same place, from a constant curiosity to understand fly fishing better and to improve a little every day, with every drift and every cast.

Who´s behind it.

I’m Mikel Coronado, a fly fishing guide and certified casting instructor.

After many years walking rivers all over Spain, I created WaderPeople to share what I’ve learned and to help others improve their casting, understand the river and the trout, and fish more efficiently while enjoying it in a more conscious way.

I still feel the same excitement every time the line tightens. And that, more than anything, is what keeps me teaching, filming and writing about it.

The idea behind WaderPeople

Fly Fishing is much more than the catch.

For me, fly fishing isn’t a hobby or an excuse to be outdoors. It’s a part of who I am.

The river has taught me patience, awareness and respect. It’s shown me that every day, every mistake and every trout are part of the same learning.

From that way of seeing and living the water came WaderPeople, as a reminder that fishing isn’t about competing or counting catches, but about understanding, feeling and belonging.
