Between Forest and Fly Line

Navarra, where culture and wild rivers meet.

The water, the Camino and the memory

Navarra is a land where water and history flow together.

The Camino de Santiago enters through its mountains and follows the course of the Arga, while the Irati runs through endless beech forests.

Here Hemingway fished for trout and drank wine, writing about Pamplona, the Sanfermines, and that way of living that mixes intensity with silence.

Northern rivers like the Bidasoa, Leitzarán, and Urrobi move through mist and stone, in landscapes that seem untouched by time.

Everything in Navarra smells of wet wood and ancient paths.

It is a place where every current tells a story and every rain brings a memory back.

Rivers and seasons in Navarra

Every river in Navarra has its own rhythm.
The Irati, flowing down from the Pyrenees towards Lumbier, holds a long season from April to September, with calm pools and green currents that invite slow and precise casting.

Further north, the Bidasoa, Leitzarán, Arga and Urrobi offer shorter but more intense seasons, open from May to June, with cold, clear waters where trout do not forgive a mistake.

These are rivers for anglers who appreciate detail and patience.
The forest closes over the water, the air smells of rain, and every cast feels like a quiet conversation between the angler and the woods.

From June onwards, Navarra connects naturally with the rivers of Huesca, where the season continues in high, transparent waters.
And when winter gives way to the first thaws, the rivers of Gipuzkoa open early in March and April, offering the first drifts of the year.

Here, success is not measured in numbers, but in the calm that remains when the day is over.
